ATHENA is delighted to attend and participate in the 2016 International AIDS Conference, and to return to Durban after 16 years of women’s activism and achievements. Through the #WhatWomenWant Campaign, we’ve launched a social media roadmap for women and girls, to join in and be part of the conversations taking place in Durban, from wherever they are in the world. The roadmap can be downloaded and shared widely – we hope this will create more inclusive dialogues on the issues affecting women.

Please also join us in the Women’s Networking Zone (Booth 620) for information, workshops, and networking opportunities. We are excited to take part in the full program of rights-based, women-led dialogues and learning sessions for women. If you can’t be present physically, you can be part of the conversation on Twitter using the following hashtags: #WNZ2016, #WhatWomenWant, #AIDS2016, and #OurSolutions.

A short guide of the workshops, panels, and learning sessions we’ll be leading and attending can be found here

If you or a young woman you know would like to join the Young Women’s Leadership Initiative at AIDS2016, which meets daily in the Women’s Networking Zone, please see the poster for contact information.
